"I Don't Want to Be" is the first single by singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw from his 2003 debut studio album Chariot. Released on December 14, 2004, the song became Gavin DeGraw's biggest hit to date, mainly due to the premiere of One Tree Hill, of which the song is the opening theme. It peaked at number ten on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and also reached #38 on the UK Singles Chart.
